One day someone at Dark Horse asked if I was interested in writing a story about young Hellboy. I wasn’t, but instead of saying no, I said “What about two pages of Hellboy eating pancakes?” I thought it was a riot. I didn’t expect anyone else to like it, but it turned out to be a big hit with a lot of readers. It’s nice when that happens.

BPRD commission from Bill Reinhold, based on the sculpture ‘Laocoön and His Sons’.  The description of which media he used and the step-by-step process make it apparent that he put a lot of work into this piece.  I especially like that he chose not to over-saturate things after scanning it, because bold colors really don’t fit the atmosphere.
